Boys 5th-8th Grades---Pre-register here to give us an idea as to how many to expect this season!
Your sign up today does not hold you to an official register, but will give us a great idea of what kinds of numbers to expect at registrations which will take place soon. The date will be posted as soon as it's official! (Look for late September, early October.)
Questions on fees, team placement, club information, practices, etc., will all be discussed at the registration meeting. In order to become knowledgeable about how the season will run and what you can expect this year, a parent needs to attend the registrations in person.
SOME FAQ'S *Boys Lacrosse is a spring sport. Regular season starts the first week of March and continues through mid-May.
*Optional conditioning begins in January 2009 and will continue until the first regular season practice. Boys are encouraged to make the commitment to attend these as often as possible as well as any camps/clinics they can possibly attend. Your off-season ball makes the difference between a good player and a great player!
*Regular season practices begin the first week of March 2009.
*The only way your child will progress throughout the season is through a commitment to the practices and to the team. Please consider your commitment to the sport before signing up.
*The game schedule is not set until January. We have no way of predicting what days our games will be ahead of time as they are not the same season to season. The middle school boys will play 13-15 games (some home, some away) and the youth boys will play 8-10 games (some home, some away).
*Boys will need their sticks, helmets, mouthpieces, and gloves for optional. The additional equipment (shoulder/chest pads and arm guards are needed by the first outdoor practice). Equipment can be purchased at Queens City Lacrosse in Bridgeville or the Pittsburgh Lacrosse Store in Mt. Lebanon. More will be discussed at registration.
*High school boys lacrosse is now a WPIAL sport sponsored by CVHS. Middle school and youth are still club teams, however, we only accept Chartiers Valley students--no exceptions. Both teams are geared to be feeder programs to the upper teams.
