Girls 7th & 8th Grade
Chartiers Valley Youth Girls Lacrosse is a parent-funded club team which hosts two
separate teams of age groups: Our middle school team includes 7th & 8th graders and
the youth girls team includes 5th & 6th graders. CVYGL is dedicated to fostering the
development of lacrosse to Chartiers Valley girls in these grades! Our further goal is to
provide a positive character-building experience through honoring the game of
lacrosse.
Spring 2009 heads up the second season for our middle school team! Registration
information will be posted soon--REGISTRATIONS WILL BE HELD IN SEPTEMBER. Please
visit this link often for updates, camp information and clinics!

Registration Information
Registrations for 7th & 8th grade girls will be held on Wednesday, September 17th,
7:00-8:30pm! If you are interested in playing, please attend WITH A PARENT that
evening to get information.
Spots will be filled on a first-come, first serve basis. Everyone who attends
registrations in person that evening will be placed on a team. Afterwards, registrations
will close once the teams are filled. A club fee deposit of $50 is expected upon
registration. This goes towards your costs for the season.
FAQ'S
*There is a club fee in order to play and pay for refs, uniforms, insurances, training
equipment, the end of season picnic, and many other things that come up along the
way. We are one of the more affordable organizations in the area and we do attempt
to keep the costs as low as possible. The season fees are split up into several
payments to help make it easier.
*Girls Lacrosse is a spring sport. Regular season starts the first week of March and
continues through mid-May.
*Optional conditioning practices begin in January 2009 and will continue until the first
regular season practice. Girls are encouraged to make the commitment to attend these
as often as possible as well as any pre-season camps/clinics they can possibly attend.
Your off-season ball makes the difference between a good player and a great player!
*Regular season practices begin the first week of March 2009.
*Middle School will practice 3x per week (Sundays, Wednesdays & Fridays this
season). There is no way we can pick a schedule that will work for everyone so we
hope this works for you!
*The only way your child will progress throughout the season is through a commitment
to the practices and to the team. Please consider your commitment to the sport before
signing up. We can't work magic with girls that do not attend regularly!
*The game schedule is not set until January. We have no way of predicting what days
our games will be ahead of time, as they are not the same season to season. The
middle school girls will play 13-15 games (some home, some away). The lovely parents
who head up this organization put together wonderful car pools to help with away
games.
*Girls will need a mouthpiece, girl's lacrosse stick and eye goggles the first time they
attend practice (yes, even the optionals). Equipment can be purchased at Queens City
Lacrosse in Bridgeville or the Pittsburgh Lacrosse Store in Mt. Lebanon. More will be
discussed at registration.
*High school girls lacrosse is now a WPIAL sport sponsored by CVHS. Middle school
and youth are still club teams, however, we only accept Chartiers Valley students--no
exceptions. Both teams are geared to be feeder programs to the upper teams. Our
high school coaches are heavily involved with the feeder programs. We work from the
ground up together!
